Fall Back Without Falling Apart

ree

Hey neighbor 👋

Ready or not, it’s almost time to “fall back.”

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, which means shorter days, earlier sunsets, and a week (or two) of wondering why you’re hungry at the wrong hour.

The time change always sneaks up on us — not because of the clocks, but because of how it feels. Suddenly, your evening walk’s in the dark, dinner feels late, and your body’s still living an hour ahead.

Here are a few cozy, practical ways to help your home — and your routine — adjust smoothly:

1. Ease into it early.

Start going to bed 10–15 minutes earlier a few nights before the change. It’s like stretching before a workout — your body will thank you.

2. Light it up.

Open blinds early and soak up as much morning sunlight as you can. It helps reset your internal clock. Bonus: it also lifts your mood when the afternoons start feeling shorter.

3. Shift your “evening routine” earlier.

If family dinners or walks happen after dark now, bring them forward a bit. Your day might technically be the same length — but your energy sure won’t be.

4. Prep your mornings.

Use that extra hour to make mornings calmer. Try brewing your coffee a little slower, taking a walk, or getting breakfast ready before the rush begins.

5. Be gentle with yourself (and the kids).

The time change messes with more than just clocks — it can make everyone a little off for a few days. Plan slower mornings, extra snuggles, and early nights.

Fall’s shift in rhythm is part of what makes the season feel so homey. So lean in — light a candle, make something warm, and let your home move with the season, not against it.

Love you, mean it.
