1. Theatre & Justice Convening

Dates: August 23–24, 2025

Location: Regent Street Black Box at Eccles Theater


The first ever Theatre and Justice Convening will bring together scholars and artists from throughout Utah and beyond to discuss and explore ideas of how to merge theatre and justice in these fraught times. Part of the Page-to-Stage Festival, this two day event will feature such artists as Wasatch Theatre Company Ensemble, Dr. Candace Christensen, Dr. Richard Scharine, Liz Whittaker, and the Lords of Misrule Theatre Co plus more featuring readings from banned books, workshops, and lectures on monsters and political theatre.


2. Our Carnival of the Animals

Date: August 23, 2025

Location: Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center

Saint-Saëns, slam poets, and snakes slither into our all-ages version of the Carnival of the Animals in our annual celebration of the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.

A world premiere co-production from Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation, Repertory Dance Theatre, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Plan-B Theatre (with special guest Plumas Colectiva!), PYGmalion Theatre Company, and SB Dance.

From the folks who brought you Mix Tape, Pictures from an Exhibition: Reframed, and Rose Exposed.

Featuring ASL interpretation.

Run time is one hour. All ages are welcome but every patron must have a seat.

3. Cottonwood Heights “Bark in the Park”

Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025, 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Location: Mountview Park, 1651 E. Fort Union Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT

Bark in the Park is a special event hosted by the Salt Lake Bees, allowing fans to enjoy a baseball game alongside their canine companions. During these events, a designated, roped-off area in the Berm section of The Ballpark at America First Square is reserved for dogs and their owners. Pet relief and water stations are provided to ensure the comfort of all attending pets.

4. Ray LaMontagne & The Weather Station – Red Butte Garden Concert

Date: Sunday, August 24, 2025

Location: Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre

Time: Gates open at 6 PM; show at 7 PM

An evening concert featuring Ray LaMontagne and The Weather Station—a wonderful outdoor live music experience.

5. Horsegirl + Godcaster – Kilby Court Concert

Date: Saturday, August 24, 2025

Location: Kilby Court

An alternative rock gig featuring Horsegirl (with Godcaster opening) as part of their North American summer tour.
